"The Tale of My Own Banknote & Coin Collection"

A lot of people around the world collect banknotes and coins as a hobby and a means of expressing themselves. The adventure of collecting banknotes and coins from different countries, each with its own history, design, and cultural meaning, can last for years or even a lifetime. In this blog, I want to talk about how collecting banknotes and coins has changed my life and how important it has become to me.

The Beginning:
Back when I was in the tenth grade, my neighbour told me about the hobby of collecting coins and banknotes, and that's when I got started. He showed me his collection of vintage Indian banknotes and coins, and ever since, I've been amazed by the many patterns, hues, and symbols that are printed on them. Since then, I have been passionate about collecting banknotes and coins for my entire life. I initially began collecting banknotes and coins from India because we have our own convenient store and were able to readily obtain them from there.

The variation in banknotes and coins is one of my favourite aspects of collecting them. Notes and coins from each country feature distinct patterns, colours, and meanings. A few of the  banknotes feature local flora and animals, well-known sites, historical individuals, or national symbols, while coins feature the historical individuals, national parks, events, etc. We call it as a Commemorative banknotes and coins.

Collecting bills and coins is not just a hobby; it's also a way to make money. Some rare notes and coins are extremely valuable, and their worth only goes up as time goes on. But my collection is worth more to me than just money. Each note and coin has a story to tell, shows a particular era, and is a historic record that I am lucky to have.

Banknote and coin collecting isn't just a hobby for one person; it's a group activity and they are called as Notaphilist and Numismatist who studies related to notes and coins.  There are a lot of discussion boards, associations, whatsapp group and meetups for people who collect banknotes all over the world and I am greatful to be a part of it. It's a wonderful means of meeting individuals who have common interests, end up sharing what you know, and learn about what other people have done.

In the end, collecting banknotes and coins has been an important part of my life, and I intend on continuing doing it for a long time. It is passion that has taken me all over the community, introduced me to new societies and individuals, and given me a physical piece of history. Whether you are just beginning your collection or have been doing so for many years, I encourage you to embrace this journey and enjoy the adventure!
